Bonhoeffer: Agent of Grace

Consider the quotes below. Answer the questions for each:
Bonhoeffer said or did Why did he say/do this? What did he mean by this? Can this be reconciled with Jesus's sermon on the mount? How?
“Better for a lover of truth to tell a lie than for a liar to tell the truth.”
"Being evil is worse than doing evil."
“To escape sin may be the ultimate guilt.”
He lied to the Nazis to save the Jewish people.
He opposed his own church in their support of Hitler.
He was part of a conspiracy to assassinate Hitler.

Write a response to the following quote that Bonhoeffer said shortly before his execution:

“I’ve been thinking about what Christ will mean in the future…I think there’s only one purpose of religion in a modern world where people must come and share each other’s suffering and share the suffering of God in a Godless world. We’ll need more than just religion in the former sense. We need faith and Jesus Christ at it’s center. Real Christianity means sharing each other’s pain.”
