Prototype Demonstration/Presentation

The purpose of this milestone is to give each project a chance to demonstrate some operational functionality of your project.

It is certainly the case the different projects will have reached different stages at this point, and be proceeding along different developmental lines. Therefore some projects may have partially complete software, while others will only have prototypes.

Your assignment is to provide some level of proof of operational concept of a major aspect of your project in this presentation. From a risk perspective, you should focus on demonstrating operations that serve to mitigate the biggest risks in the project. For example, if there is a certain aspects that you are not sure you know how to solve, or modules that you have never integrated, or user interface features the user needs to see to determine if this is what they really want, these sort of things are what the prototypes or software implementations should focus on.

Outline

  1. An overview of the presentation
  2. An explaination of which project risks your demonstration is addressing
  3. A demo of the work
  4. An summary of the success and conclusions reached by this work
